I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a list of all of my favorite stuff.
Home studio
14” MacBook Pro, M1 Pro, 16GB RAM (2021)
Noone's gonna be surprised by now that M-chips go brrr - bought this one out of my old job contract and very happy with performance and battery life.
Never used Mac OS prior but don't see myself going back any time soon.Adam Audio T5
High quality monitors at a budget price - mine have a slight shhhh sound when nothing is playing but that appears to be normal - very happy with them otherwise.
Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Black Edition, 250 Ohm
250 Ohm is handy since my MacBook natively supports that high of resistance - very clear listening experience, yet I still mix on monitors and only bring these out occasionally.
DJ equipment
Pioneer FLX-4
Entry-level controller that does it all. Type-C to run with laptop and no external power makes for nice outdoor setup.
Sennheiser HD 25
Everyone has these for a good reason, waited around for a sale to come and didn't regret that purchase.
Soundboks 4
Sometimes the most fun setup isn't necessarily the most balanced. Comes with a backback and a spare battery for a nice little outdoor rave.
